Markleysburg is a borough located in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1842 and incorporated as a borough in 1874.
The population of Markleysburg was 282 according to the 2010 census. The borough covers an area of 0.3 square miles and is situated in the Appalachian Mountains, near the Maryland border.
Markleysburg is primarily a residential community, with a small number of businesses. It is located near several state parks, including Ohiopyle State Park and Laurel Ridge State Park, which attract many outdoor enthusiasts for hiking, fishing, boating, and other recreational activities.
The town is served by the Uniontown Area School District and is located along U.S. Route 40, also known as the National Road.
